Artists from all countries are invited to participate.Participation is free of charge. Artists are invited to send up to 3 books, either traditional books or books objects.Works and entry forms must be sent till the 15th of November 2008. On the 25th of November 2008, judges solely from the artist's books will select works for the exhibition, created according the announced theme.Applicant shall cover all the necessary expenses for subscription, such as shipping cost, insurance, etc. Please write the value for customs no more 30 USD or 30 euro.

Catalogue: The organisers will publish a catalogue. As usually it will be printed in typography and bounded by hands like an artist's book. Catalogues will be available at 25 euro / 35 USD per copy on request. International money order will be accepted for payment. Entrants who will be accepted to the Triennial and will donate artist's book to the Permanent Collection of "Bokartas" receive the catalogue free of charge.

Sending and returning of works: Works will be returned only to entrants who request so in the entry form. Artists require to prepay the return postage by International money order. Payment with International post coupon is not acceptable.

The organiser retains the rights to photograph and print photographs of works for use in catalogues, in web, public relations and advertisements of the exhibition.

History
The 5th International Artist's Book Triennial Vilnius 2009 is organized as a continuation of the last Triennials. The 1st International Artist's Book Triennial took place in 1997, at Gallery "Kaire Desine". The theme of it was "Diary: Eight Days". 65 artists from 13 countries took part.
The 2nd International Artist's Book Triennial took place in 2000, at Gallery "Arka" and "Galerie 5020" in Salzburg. The theme of it was "Apocalypse". 138 artists from 29 countries took part.The 3rd International Artist's Book Triennial took place in 2003, at the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius. The theme of it was "23 Sins". 118 artists from 37 countries took part. After the exhibition in Vilnius the Triennial was showed in 2004 at the Frankfurt Art Fair in Frankfurt on Main, Germany; in 2004, at Thomas Mannas' House in Nida, Lithuania; in 2004, at Gallery "Le Carre" in Lille, France.

The 4th International Artist's Book Triennial took place in 2006, in the Gallery "Arka" in Vilnius. The theme of it was "Rabbit and House". 130 artists from 29 countries took part. After the exhibition in Vilnius the Triennial was showed in 2007 at the Leipzig Book Fair in Leipzig, Germany; in 2007, at the Seoul International Book Arts Fair in Seoul, South Korea.
Future

After the end of the exhibition in Vilnius, the 5th Triennial is planned to be shown in Europe, at the Sydney Art on Paper Fair in Australia, and at the Seoul International Book Arts Fair, South Korea.
